WATCH | Tourists wade through puddles inside Statue of Unity as rainwater leaks from viewing gallery ceiling

A video of tourists trudging through puddles inside the world's tallest, Statue of Unity in Gujarat, has gone viral on social media. The video also shows rainwater leaking from the cracks of viewing gallery's ceiling in the Statue of Unity.


As the rains intensified in the area, tourists took refuge inside the viewing gallery of the Statue of Unity. However, it proved to be futile as the tourists had to wade through the puddles of water which was dripping from the ceiling of the world's tallest statue.

The viewing gallery of the Statue of Unity has been constructed so that tourists can enjoy the view of river Narmada from it.

After the incident was reported, the CEO of the Statue of Unity IK Patel reached there and inspected the viewing gallery. Ignoring the questions on the shortcomings while the Statue of Unity was being constructed, IK Patel said that the gallery was constructed in such a way so that the tourists could enjoy the weather.

However, not just the viewing gallery, rainwater was also dripping from the cracks on the upper portion of the Statue of Unity.-India Today
